Saya menamatkan pengajian Sarjana (2011) dan PhD (2015) dalam bidang Kejuruteraan Mikro dan Nanoelektronik di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Telah mendapat anugerah Tesis Sarjana Cemerlang untuk kajian pembangunan sensor pendar cahaya untuk mengesan racun prosak di dalam air. Kajian Phd berkaitan pembangunan sensor serakan Raman permukaan diperkuat untuk mengesan bisphenol A telah mendapat excellent PhD thesis remarks oleh penilai luar. Saya telah menjalankan program sangkutan selama 7 bulan di Flinders University of South Australia, Adelaide dan menjalankan kerjasama untuk projek PhD dengan bantuan travel grant dari Flinders University. Saya kini merupakan pensyarah di UKM dan merupakan ahli kumpulan Organik Elektronik di Institut Kejuruteraan Mikro dan Nanoelektronik, UKM. Penyelidikan yang dijalankan adalah penyediaan dan pencirian filem nipis untuk peranti elektronik, sensor optic, biosensor plasmonik dan bahan bersaiz nano.
Norhayati has completed Masters in Micro and Nanoelectronics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2011 and awarded the Excellent Master Thesis Award from the university based on Master research work on the development of a fluorescent sensor system to detect pesticides in water using quantum dots thin films. In December 2015, she completed PhD which focused on the development of a surface-enhanced Raman scattering sensor to detect bisphenol A using silver nanoplates substrates and later received excellent PhD thesis remarks by the external examiner from Universiti Malaysia Perlis for this research work. In addition, she undertook work at Flinders University of South Australia, Adelaide for seven months for SERS research using travel researcher scheme funding from Flinders University.
She is currently a senior lecturer at UKM and a member of Organic and Printed Electronic Group at Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics. Current research interests include the preparation and characterization of thin films for electronic devices, optical sensors, plasmonic biosensor, and nanomaterials.
