ChM. Dr. Salma Binti Samidin is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with recognized expertise in catalytic materials, carbon conversion technologies, hydrogen production, and sustainable energy systems. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Oleochemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2012, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) in Biolubricant Production and Homogeneous Catalysis in 2015, during which her research focused on the synthesis, chemical modification, and characterization of palm-oil-derived biolubricant base stocks. She subsequently earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Sciences from UKM in 2023, specializing in carbon production and heterogeneous catalysis. She possesses extensive hands-on experience in advanced catalyst design and characterization techniques, as well as in the operation and optimization of pilot- and semi-pilot-scale reactors, including microwave-assisted systems. In her postdoctoral role, Dr. Salma is actively engaged in multidisciplinary, industry-linked research projects, working closely with national and international industrial partners to translate laboratory-scale innovations into practical, scalable technologies. Beyond her technical contributions, she has demonstrated strong academic leadership through high-impact journal publications, the supervision and mentoring of postgraduate and undergraduate researchers. Her work reflects a strong commitment to advancing translational research aligned with national priorities, particularly in clean energy transition, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable resource utilization.
