   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Prof Dato `Ir. Dr Wan Ramli Wan Daud FASc adalah Profesor Kerusi UKM-Petronas Tenaga Hidrogen Lestari di Institut Sel Fuel, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) (Disember 2019-2021), Pengarah Pengasas Institut Sel Fuel, UKM (2007-2013), Profesor Kejuruteraan Kimia di Jabatan Kejuruteraan Kimia & Proses, Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Alam Bina, UKM (1996-2021) dan Felo Penyelidik Utama di Institut Sel Fuel, UKM (2007-2021). Beliau dilahirkan pada 27 Disember 1955 di Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. Beliau bersekolah di Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Conolly, Ipoh (1962-1964), Sekolah Kebangsaan Taiping (1965-1967), Sekolah Dato `Abdul Razak, Tanjung Malim & Seremban (1968-1973), Leederville Technical College, Perth, Australia (1974), University of Monash, Victoria, Australia (1975-1978) dan University of Cambridge U.K. (1979-1984). Beliau telah memperolehi ijazah BEng (First Class Hon.) dari University of Monash pada tahun 1978 dan ijazah PhD dari University of Cambridge pada tahun 1984, dalam bidang kejuruteraan kimia. Beliau adalah Presiden Pengasas Persatuan Tenaga Hidrogen Malaysia (MAHE) (2018-2020) dan Presiden Akademi Sains Islam Malaysia (ASASI). Beliau ialah Felo Akademi Sains Malaysia (ASM) sejak 2012. Beliau adalah penerima Anugerah Merdeka 2016, anugerah tertinggi saintis Malaysia, pada 23 September 2016 bagi penyelidikan teknologi sel fuel dan tenaga hidrogen. Beliau salah seorang Minda Saintifik Paling Berpengaruh Dunia dan penyelidik Paling Banyak Dikutip dalam bidang kejuruteraan pada 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 dan 2020 oleh Clarivate Analytics. Bidang penyelidikannya ialah tenaga hidrogen hijau, sel fuel dan pengeringan industri mampan. Beliau telah menerbitkan 399 makalah jurnal antarabangsa, 400 makalah dalam prosiding persidangan antarabangsa dan 235 makalah dalam prosiding persidangan kebangsaan. Jumlah kutipan WOS 9,806, H-indeks 52; SCOPUS 10,907, H-indeks 54, Google 16,465, H-indeks 66.
    Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Wan Ramli Wan Daud FASc is the UKM-Petronas Chair Professor of Sustainable Hydrogen Energy at the Fuel Cell Institute, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) (December 2019- 2021), Founding Director of the Fuel Cell Institute, UKM (2007-2013) Professor of Chemical Engineering at Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment, UKM (1996-2021) and Principal Research Fellow at the Fuel Cell Institute, UKM (2007-2021). He was born on 27 December 1955 in Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. He went to school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Conolly Ipoh (1962-1964), Sekolah Kebangsaan Taiping (1965-1967), Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak (1968-1973), Leederville Technical College (1974), University of Monash, Victoria, Australia (1975-1978) and University of Cambridge U.K. (1979-1984). He obtained the BEng degree (First Class Hon.) from the University of Monash in 1978 and the PhD degree from the University of Cambridge in 1984, in chemical engineering. He is the Founding President of the Malaysian Association of Hydrogen Energy (MAHE) (2018-2020). President of Academy of Islamic Science Malaysia (ASASI). He is a Fellow of the Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM) since 2012. He is the recipient of the Merdeka Award 2016 for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement, Malaysia’s top award for Malaysian scientists, on 23 September 2016 for research in fuel cells and hydrogen energy. He is one of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds and Highly Cited Researcher in engineering in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 by Clarivate Analytics. His main research areas are green hydrogen energy, fuel cells and sustainable industrial drying. He published 399 articles in international journals, 400 articles in proceedings of international conferences and 235 articles in proceedings of national conferences. Total citations WOS 9,806 H-index 52; SCOPUS 10,907, H-index 54; Google 16,465, H-index 66.
