   Biografi :
  • Dr Nurina Anuar is affiliated to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (The National University of Malaysia) since 1992. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students for Chemical Engineering programmes. She obtained her BSc (Honours) and MSc. degrees in Microbiology from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and PhD in Microbiology (Mammalian Cell Technology) from University of Surrey, England, UK. Her research interests has always been related to the application of mammalian in culture for industrial needs, specifically for production of proteins such as recombinant enzymes, monoclonal antibodies and viruses for vaccine. The research involved molecular manipulation for gene expression in mammalian cells and cultivation of the mammalian cells in culture and bioreactor system. She has been working closely in research collaboration with Malaysian Biopharmaceutical company and Malaysia Genome Institute for production of virus for vaccine and recombinant antibodies. Currently, she is leading a project collaboration between University Kebangsaan Malaysia and Northwest Minzu University on Influenza vaccine research. With her expertise in mammalian cell culture, she also developed the mammalian cell-based toxicity determination approach for assessment of micropollutants in hazardous wastewater.
