She is passionate about sharing her expertise in medical physiology with students, particularly those who benefit from personalized, one-on-one coaching.
Siti Fatimah is currently working as a physiology lecturer and researcher at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where she teaches undergraduate medical and nursing students, postgraduate Master in Medical Science (coursework and research), Doctor of Philosophy, and Postgraduate Surgery (Part 1) students. She focuses on reproductive biology, encompassing areas such as sperm cryopreservation, sperm quality assessment, gene and protein expression changes in oligospermia model, the effects of antioxidants on sperm quality, and DNA damage when exposed to oxidative stress.
She collaborates with researchers from various universities, both locally and internationally, in addition to her academic role. In her current research, she explores the effects of radiofrequency radiation and illicit drugs (methamphetamine and new psychoactive substances) on the reproductive system, as well as the role of edible bird nests (EBN) and Gelam honey in alleviating post-menopausal symptoms.
Among her notable accomplishments are serving as a research fellow at the Agrobiotechnology Institute (ABI) and speaker in the Physiology Intensive Course, a postgraduate thesis external examiner (Newcastle University of Australia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Uni. Malaya, UiTM), and a professional medical and dental exam for institutions such as the UiTM, Uni Ssains Malaysia, USIM, and Lincoln College University. In addition, she has served as Head of Physiology Department, Department and Faculty Postgraduate Coordinator, Neuroscience Head Module, internal auditor for SPK PPP MS ISO 9001, and member of the UKM Animal Ethicals (UKMAEC) committee.
