Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Hasimi bin Yaacob is a senior academic at the Centre for Business Management and Entrepreneurship Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from La Trobe University, Australia, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia, after completing his undergraduate studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Dr. Mohd Hasimi’s academic and research interests are firmly grounded in corporate finance and investment, with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, behavioral finance, financial market efficiency, and applied econometric analysis. His research agenda has progressively expanded to include emerging themes such as ESG performance, fintech adoption, sustainability investment, and innovative approaches to finance education, including gamification and experiential learning.
He has published extensively in high-impact international journals indexed in WoS and Scopus, including Finance Research Letters, Sustainability, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Crime, Law and Social Change, and SAGE Open. In addition to his scholarly publications, he has led and collaborated on numerous national and international research grants, serving frequently as principal investigator.
Beyond research, Dr. Mohd Hasimi is an experienced postgraduate supervisor at both Master’s and doctoral levels and is actively engaged in professional training, academic governance, and community outreach. His contributions to teaching and academic service have been recognised through multiple institutional and international awards, reflecting his sustained commitment to excellence in higher education and research.
