Biografi/ Biography :
Dr. Hamidah Alias is a Professor of Pediatrics and Senior Consultant Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist at the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine UKM, Kuala Lumpur. She was trained in pediatric hematology and oncology at Institut Pediatrik Hospital KL and Hospital UKM between 1999 and 2002. She pursued further sub-specialty training abroad at University Children’s Hospital, Zurich and Sir James Spence Institute of Child Health, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, England between 2002 and 2004. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology by the National Specialist Registration, Malaysia and currently a member of the Specialty sub-committee for national credentialing in pediatric hemato-oncology. She is an accredited trainer in pediatric hemato-oncology in Malaysia. She is also an associate principal fellow with UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute(UMBI). Her research interests focus on clinical and molecular of childhood malignancies, especially leukemias and hematological condition, thalassemia. Her research collaboration includes the institutional and national levels, and a few on international collaboration with the Netherlands, UK, Japan and Australia. She has published over 86 papers in local and international peer-reviewed journals. She has also served as reviewer for some medical journals including Pediatric Blood Cancer, Molecular Carcinogenesis, Journal of Blood Medicine, Tropical Medicine & International Health, Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences, and Iranian Journal of Pediatrics. She involves in transversal programs/collaboration with St. Jude Children`s Research Hospital, Memphis USA as physician lead since 2021 until present. She was the former deputy director(medical), UKM Specialist Children`s Hospital, the former Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Committee(standing member) for Asia Pacific Regional Program St. Jude Global Alliance, the past President of Malaysian Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, and Medical Adviser to a NGO,
