Biografi/ Biography :
Dr Tuti Ningseh Mohd Dom is currently Dean and Professor of Dental Public Health at Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She received her early dental education at the University of Malaya between 1987-1991. She obtained her Master degree in Public Health in 1995 from the University of Michigan. Her PhD degree was in Community Health and conferred via a joint initiative between Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the International Institute for Global Health of the United Nations University, Kuala Lumpur in 2013. She started her academic career as a lecturer in Dental Public Health at the University of Malaya in 1995. In year 2000 she started working in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia until present and is currently Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. Her research interests include dental health economics, public health aspects of periodontal disease, oral health literacy, multidisciplinary approaches to oral health promotion, and dental education. Dr Tuti has initiated an online public education portal for promotion of periodontal health. Presently, she is working on developing online learning packages for the general dentists as well as other healthcare workers with emphasis on shared care for non-communicable diseases like stroke an diabetes. Other collaborative research initiatives include working on the development of a casemix system for oral healthcare settings, use of clinical pathways to improve quality of oral healthcare and use of teledentistry to improve access to healthcare. Her contributions to the growth of the dental profession include being directly involved in developing national accreditation standards and quality assurance in dental education as well as evaluating compliance to these standards . She has published and presented her papers locally and internationally. Dr Tuti believes that life should be spent to improve lives of mankind, as a sign of gratitude to the Creator.
