Biografi/ Biography :
Associate Professor Dr Hafiza Alauddin is a Consultant Haematopathologist practising at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Hospital Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani (UKM Children’s Specialist Hospital), and the UKM Specialist Centre, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She currently serves as the Head of the Haematology Unit, Department of Medical Diagnostic Laboratory at HCTM.
She is also an academic staff member in the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, UKM, where she is actively involved in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees.
Her clinical and research expertise spans molecular haematology, haemato-oncology, and paediatric haematology, with particular emphasis on measurable residual disease (MRD) monitoring in leukaemia and haemoglobinopathies, especially thalassaemia. Her work focuses on advancing precision haematology through the integration of molecular diagnostics, genomic technologies, and MRD assessment into clinical practice and research. She is actively engaged in translational research, particularly in developing molecular platforms for improved disease characterisation and monitoring.
Dr Hafiza is a member of the Chapter of Haematology, College of Pathologists Malaysia, and the Malaysian Society of Haematology. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial board of an international scientific journal. She also contributes to national haematology education and laboratory standards through her roles in the Malaysian Medical Council and the Skim Akreditasi Makmal Malaysia (SAMM), and is actively involved in capacity building in genomic and precision haematology in Malaysia.
