   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Ponnusamy Subramaniam is a senior lecturer at the Health Psychology Program, School of Healthcare Sciences, Faculty of Health Science, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Dr. Ponnusamy received his bachelor and master degree from UKM and PhD from University of Wales (Bangor), UK in Ageing and Dementia Studies. He has completed his post-doctoral research fellowship at Geriatric Mental Health Services, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Toronto, Canada. He has been involved in teaching psychology related subjects, specifically in teaching abnormal psychology for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for more than 15 years. Dr. Ponnusamy is a clinical psychologist and active in practice and supervision of clinical psychology trainees at Health Psychology Clinic. He is also a certified interventionist for Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) by CAMH. He is actively involved in research particularly relating psychosocial intervention for people with memory difficulties including dementia, public knowledge and attitude towards dementia, mental health issues and cognition, as well as had published and presented his research findings locally and internationally. He is a Chartered Psychologist by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a full member of Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP).
