Dr. Ponnusamy Subramaniam is a senior lecturer at the Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Dr. Ponnu received his bachelor and master degrees from UKM and his PhD from the University of Wales (Bangor) United Kingdom, in Ageing and Dementia Studies. He has completed his post-doctoral research fellowship at Geriatric Mental Health Services, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Toronto, Canada. He is a Chartered Psychologist by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a full member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP). Dr. Ponnu is a qualified clinical psychologist and is active in the practice and supervision of clinical psychologist trainees at the Clinical Psychology Clinic. He is actively involved in research, particularly relating to psychosocial intervention for people living with memory difficulties, including Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Dementia. His research also focuses on public knowledge and attitudes towards dementia, mental health issues, and cognition. Dr. Ponnu has several academic publications and presentations locally and internationally.
