Biografi/ Biography :
Dr. Ixora Kamisan is an Associate Professor and Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist & Urogynaecologist in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre. She completed her subspecialty training in Urogynaecology in Sydney Medical School Nepean, University of Sydney in 2014 and obtained her PhD in 2018 with her thesis ‘Pelvic floor trauma following vaginal childbirth’. She is the first Malaysian gynaecologist to be formally trained in Translabial / Transperineal Pelvic Floor ultrasound (PFUS). Her main expertise is in pelvic floor imaging. She is an active member of the International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA) Pelvic Floor Imaging Special Interest Group (SIG) and is a preceptor of IUGA online academy for PFUS. She has been awarded the ‘Isobel Corin Award’ for young researchers by the Nepean Medical Research Foundations (Australia) in 2012 and 2014, and the University of Sydney Postgraduate Research Scheme in 2014 and 2015. She has numerous recent publications related to pelvic floor trauma following childbirth and pelvic floor dysfunction, and is a well-known speaker nationally and internationally. She is also a regular reviewer for high impact journals in O&G.
