   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Azlin Muhammad bertugas sebagai Pensyarah Perubatan Kanan di Fakulti Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), di mana beliau juga pernah berkhidmat sebagai Ketua Jabatan Parasitologi & Entomologi Perubatan dari 2017 - 2021. Beliau memperolehi MBBCH BaO daripada National Universiti Ireland (Galway) pada tahun 2000 dan Sarjana Kesihatan Awam dalam Kesihatan Tropika dari Universiti Queensland, Australia, pada tahun 2007. Kerjaya Dr. Azlin bermula di Ireland, di mana beliau bekerja sebagai Pegawai Perubatan dengan Lembaga Kesihatan Barat Ireland di Galway dan sebagai Houseman dengan Lembaga Kesihatan Barat Laut Ireland di Letterkenny. Kepakaran beliau dalam parasitologi telah diiktiraf secara meluas, membawa kepada peranan beliau sebagai Pakar Perunding Parasitologi untuk kedua-dua sektor swasta dan kerajaan sejak 2018. Beliau juga mengetuai Diagnosis Makmal Klinikal di Jabatan Parasitologi di UKM, jawatan yang dipegangnya sejak 2008. Minat penyelidikan Dr Azlin tertumpu kepada jangkitan parasit dalam pelbagai komuniti, termasuk kawasan luar bandar, Orang Asli, murid sekolah, dan persekitaran bandar, serta kajian parasit di alam sekitar khususnya yang melibatkan makanan.
    Dr. Azlin Muhammad is a Senior Medical Lecturer at the Medical Faculty of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she also has servds as the Head of the Department of Parasitology & Medical Entomology from 2017 - 2021. She earned her MBBCH BaO from the National University of Ireland (Galway) in 2000 and her Master of Public Health in Tropical Health from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2007. Dr. Azlin`s extensive career began in Ireland, where she worked as a Medical Officer with the Irish Western Health Board in Galway and as a Houseman with the Irish Northwest Health Board in Letterkenny. Her expertise in parasitology has been widely recognized, leading to her role as a Consultant Parasitologist for both private and government sectors since 2018. She also heads the Clinical Laboratory Diagnosis in the Department of Parasitology at UKM, a position she has held since 2008. Dr. Azlin`s research interests are focused on parasitic infections in various communities, including rural areas, Orang Asli, school children, and urban settings, as well as the study of parasites in the environment, particularly in water and food markets.
