   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Assoc Prof Dr. Mohd Fairuz Ali is a Senior Lecturer & Family Medicine Consultant at the Department of Family Medicine, UKM Medical Centre. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia and pursued his Clinical Speciality in Doctor (Fam Med) from The National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2011. He has training and working experience in Malaysia and Australia. He has special interest in community based Long Term Stroke Care and in Elderly and Aging especially on Dementia Awareness and Education. He is active in research and clinical work in these areas on top of his general clinical practice. He has training and practice experience in these fields from Malaysian and Australian institutions. Dr Fairuz is a Clinical Fellow in Community Stroke Care (UKM). He is a clinical consultant for the Long Term Stroke Clinic in Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, UKM and the advisor for their stroke patients support group. Dr Fairuz Ali also is trained in community Dementia Care from University of Tasmania, Australia and Hunter New England NSW Health, Australia. He is an advocate for dementia awareness by giving public and academia lectures, talks and educational programs. Currently he holds the position of Program Coordinator for the Postgrad Doctor of Family Medicine post-grad specialist training program where he is involves in the curriculum development, assessment and students affair. He is in the Malaysian Family Medicine Specialty Conjoint Committee. Outside of his academic and clinical work, Dr Fairuz volunteers in NGO activities where he is the executive committee member for the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) a humanitarian organisation which focus on relief work for marginalised communities such as the Orang Asli (Indigenous people) and those affected by disasters/war conflicts.
