Biografi/ Biography :
Associate Professor Dr S. Nagarajan a/l M.P. Sockalingam is a senior consultant and
clinical lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, the National
University of Malaysia (UKM). Before his current appointment, he was the Head of
Dental Services at the Terendak Military Hospital, Melaka. On the academic front at
the Faculty of Dentistry UKM, he has held numerous roles, such as Head of the
Operative Department, Head of the Family Oral Health Department and Head of the
Paediatric Dentistry Unit. He was responsible for setting up both the Doctor of Clinical
Dentistry(DClinDent)(Paediatric Dentistry) and the Doctor in Paediatric Dentistry
(DrPaedDent) postgraduate programmes. Besides the faculty appointments, he is
also Head of the Paediatric Dentistry Discipline of the Joint Technical Committee for
Evaluation of Postgraduate Dental Speciality Programmes, a member of the Dental
Subspecialty Committee (DSSC) (Paediatric Dentistry) and a member of the Dental
Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) committee. He is a life member of the
Malaysian Pediatric Dentistry Association and a member of the Malaysian Dental
Association. He has published numerous research and clinical articles in local and
international journals. His main areas of interest are paediatric dental trauma and paediatric dentoalveolar surgery.
