Dr. Farah Wahida Ibrahim is a biomedical scientist, educator, and researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UKM, specializing in Biomedical Science & Diagnostics and Translational Neuroscience. Her research focuses on neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, protein dynamics, redox biology, and molecular diagnostics, with the goal of understanding disease mechanisms and improving therapeutic strategies. She has extensive experience in neurodegenerative disease modeling, including the development and validation of Alzheimer’s Disease models in preclinical studies.
Beyond biomedical research, Dr. Farah also explores Tahfiz education, particularly in assessing the relationship between Quran memorization, intelligence, mental health, and the well-being of Tahfiz students. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of how Quranic memorization influences cognitive and psychological functions, aligning with a holistic approach to human development.
As an educator, Dr. Farah integrates creative and technology-driven learning approaches into her teaching and actively supervises undergraduate, master`s, and PhD students. She has secured various national and university research grants, either as the principal or as co-researcher, published in high-impact journals, and is actively involved in science communication and STEM outreach programs.
With expertise in interdisciplinary research and academic innovation, Dr. Farah continues to contribute to the advancement of biomedical science, education, and societal well-being.
