Dr Nurul Huda Abd. Karim obtained her BSc in Chemistry from UniversitiKebangsaan Malaysia in 2006 where she carried out research under the supervision of Prof Dr Musa Ahmad on chemical sensors. In 2007, she joined UKM as a tutor. She then moved to the UK to carry out PhD research on the study of interaction between metal complexes with G-quadruplex DNA, under the supervision of Prof Dr Ramon Vilar at Imperial College. Currently, she is as Senior Lecturer in Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science & Technology, UKM. Her research interest are centered around the the synthesis of metal complexes and their utilisation in as therapeutic agent and optical DNA biosensors. Her current research projects focus on the development of DNA based optical biosensors including porcine DNA sensor for Halal industry, histamine chemical sensor and dengue DNA biosensor.
