   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Prof. Madya Dr. Mahendra Rao Somalu merupakan Penyelidik Kanan di Institut Sel Fuel, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Beliau telah mendapat PhD daripada Imperial College London pada tahun 2012. Sejak 2013, beliau telah menjadi Ahli Bersekutu aktif di Institution of Chemical Enginers (IChemE), dan sejak 2017, beliau menjadi Ahli Persatuan Tenaga Hidrogen Malaysia (MAHE) dan Ahli Persatuan Sains Pepejal Malaysia (MASS) pada tahun 2019. Beliau telah menerima beberapa anugerah, termasuk ‘Best Researcher Award’ For the Contribution and Honourable Achievement in Innovative Research 2023 from the Scifax Information and Analytics Pvt. Ltd., Anugerah Emas dalam 4th International Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand Symposium on Innovation and Creativity 2021 (SIC 2021), Anugerah Bitara Penerbitan dalam kategori sains daripada UKM pada tahun 2018, Anugerah Perak dalam 3rd International Innovation, Design, and Articulation (i-IDEA 2016), dan Anugerah Emas dalam Invention, Innovation & Design Exposition 2015 (iideX2015). Artikel yang bertajuk "Structural and Electrochemical Properties of Lanthanum Silicate Apatites La10Si6-x-0.2AlxZn0.2O27-d for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs)" telah dipilih sebagai Article of the Year 2021 oleh Hindawi dan diterbitkan dalam International Journal of Chemical Engineering. Dengan pengalaman lebih dari 15 tahun dalam pembangunan teknologi sel fuel suhu tinggi, nanomaterial, gasifikasi biojisim, dan tenaga hidrogen, beliau telah menerbitkan lebih daripada 130 artikel saintifik di pelbagai jurnal berimpact tinggi dan telah dijemput sebagai penceramah utama dan penceramah jemputan di pelbagai persidangan kebangsaan dan antarabangsa.
    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahendra Rao Somalu is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Fuel Cell Institute, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He received his PhD from Imperial College London in 2012. Since 2013, he has been an active Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), and since 2017, he has been a Member of the Malaysian Association of Hydrogen Energy (MAHE) and a Member of the Malaysian Association of Solid State Science (MASS) since 2019. He has received several awards, including the Best Researcher Award’ For Contribution and Honourable Achievement in Innovative Research 2023 from the Scifax Information and Analytics Pvt. Ltd., Gold Award in the 4th International Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand Symposium on Innovation and Creativity 2021 (SIC 2021), the Anugerah Bitara Penerbitan (Excellent Publication Award) in the science category from UKM in 2018, the Silver Award in the 3rd International Innovation, Design, and Articulation (i-IDEA 2016), and the Gold Award in the Invention, Innovation & Design Exposition 2015 (iideX2015). His article entitled “Structural and Electrochemical Properties of Lanthanum Silicate Apatites La10Si6-x-0.2AlxZn0.2O27- for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs)” was chosen as the Article of the Year 2021 by Hindawi and was published in the International Journal of Chemical Engineering. With over 15 years of experience in the development of high-temperature fuel cell technology, nanomaterials, biomass gasification, and hydrogen energy, he has published more than 130 scientific articles in various high-impact journals and has been invited to speak as a keynote and invited speaker at various national and international conferences.
