Dr. Wan Mimi Diyana Wan Zaki is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She currently serves as Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), reflecting her commitment to academic leadership and postgraduate development. Her research focuses on digital image processing, biomedical data analytics, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems, with applications spanning medical image analysis, ocular disease screening, as well as broader engineering domains. She has led and contributed to numerous national and international research projects, securing over RM1.3 million as principal investigator and more than RM4 million as co-researcher. Her work includes intelligent decision support systems for non-communicable eye diseases, such as the myMata project, integrating AI for early screening and community health. She actively collaborates with academia, industry, and international partners, alongside contributing to community outreach initiatives. Dr. Wan Mimi has published over 160 scholarly works, including indexed journals, conference proceedings, and books. She also contributes as a reviewer, panel assessor, and curriculum advisor at national and institutional levels. As a dedicated mentor, she has successfully supervised PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students, with several achieving timely graduation and excellent thesis recognition. She has received multiple recognitions in research, teaching, and service. Her work continues to advance AI-driven solutions across healthcare and broader domains, contributing to impactful research, innovation, and societal benefit.
