Mohd Arif bin Atarhim, Ph.D., RN, adalah seorang ahli fakulti di Jabatan Kejururawatan, Fakulti Perubatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Beliau memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Kejururawatan dari Monash University, Australia, dan melanjutkan pengajian kedoktorannya dalam bidang Pembangunan Manusia di UKM. Semasa pengajian kedoktorannya, beliau dianugerahkan biasiswa daripada George Washington Institute for Spirituality and Health (GWISH) untuk program "Latihan Jurulatih Penjagaan Spiritual," serta menghadiri kursus latihan penjagaan paliatif bagi pesakit kanser di National Cancer Institute, Bangkok, Thailand.
Beliau juga telah diterima sebagai Sarjana dalam Kohort Nursing Now Sigma, yang bertujuan untuk memperkasakan jururawat dan bidan untuk menjadi pemimpin dalam bidang kesihatan. Beliau turut dianugerahkan biasiswa untuk menghadiri Bengkel Penyelidikan Tahunan ke-19 di Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, Amerika Syarikat.
Di samping itu, beliau terlibat sebagai pemegang taruh dalam projek Enhancing Nurses’ and Midwives’ Competence in Providing Spiritual Care through Innovative Education and Compassionate Care (EPICC), yang dibiayai bersama oleh Program Erasmus+ Kesatuan Eropah. Projek ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan pendidikan dan amalan penjagaan spiritual yang berasaskan bukti di Eropah dan lebih meluas lagi.
Penyelidikan beliau memberi tumpuan kepada hubungan antara religiositi/spiritualiti dengan penjagaan spiritual, promosi kesihatan, kesejahteraan psikologi, penyakit kronik, dan penjagaan paliatif.
Mohd Arif bin Atarhim, Ph.D., RN, is a faculty member in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, at the National University of Malaysia (UKM). He earned his Master of Nursing from Monash University, Australia, and pursued his doctoral studies in Human Development at UKM. During his doctoral degree, he was awarded a scholarship from the George Washington Institute for Spirituality and Health (GWISH) for the "Spiritual Care Train the Trainer" program, as well as training in palliative care nursing for cancer patients through a course offered by the National Cancer Institute, Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Mohd Arif was accepted as a Scholar in Sigma’s Nursing Now Challenge Cohort, which aims to empower nurses and midwives to become leaders in healthcare. He was also awarded a prestigious scholarship to attend the 19th Annual Research Workshop at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, USA.
Additionally, he was involved as a stakeholder in the Enhancing Nurses’ and Midwives’ Competence in Providing Spiritual Care through Innovative Education and Compassionate Care (EPICC) project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program. The project aims to develop evidence-based spiritual care education and practices across Europe and beyond.
His research focuses on the intersections of religiosity/spirituality with spiritual care, health promotion, psychological well-being, chronic illness, and palliative care.
