  • Dr. Nabil is a Colorectal Fellow, General Surgeon and Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), based at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Kuala Lumpur. Currently pursuing his fellowship in Colorectal Surgery under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, his clinical expertise centers on minimally invasive and robotic colorectal cancer surgery, as well as complex pelvic floor procedures. Dr. Nabil supervises medical trainees at all levels—from undergraduates, postgraduate Masters of Surgery and PhD candidates. He has successfully secured multiple research grants from industry partners, the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and UKM to advance research in colorectal cancers, cancer screening, novel biomarkers and surgical disparity. Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Nabil is a dedicated clinical leader. He holds multiple administrative positions, including Head of Surgery Module, and serves on the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Colorectal Committee, the Operation Theatre Device Procurement Committee and the Hospital Medical Board. Nationally, he has been instrumental in revising the medical officer curriculum with the Malaysian Medical Council. A prolific author in high-impact medical journals, Dr. Nabil also currently serves as an Editorial Board Member for The American Journal of Surgery.
