Biografi/ Biography :
Prof Madya Dr Mohamed Faisal memulakan kerjayanya di Kementerian Kesihatan pada 2003 dan pernah bekerja di beberapa hospital sebelum berpindah ke institusi semasa di bawah Kementerian Kesihatan. Beliau memperoleh fellowship dalam bidang respiratori pada 2017 dan menerima latihan dalam penyakit pleura, sleep medicine and pulmonary physiology di Hospital Sir Charles Gairdner, Perth Australia. Beliau telah menubuhkan perkhidmatan pleura di UKM dan salah satu yang pertama di Malaysia untuk mendapatkan permit import dan menggunakan agen intrapleural (Alteplase dan Pulmozyme) yang berjaya untuk complex effusion.
Semasa di UKM, beliau menerima pelbagai anugerah seperti anugerah perkhidmatan kecemerlangan (2016), dan memenangi pelbagai anugerah (penyampai dan penyelia) dalam Malaysian Thoracic Society Congress (MTS), dan Malaysian Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology Congress (MABIP). Beliau juga merupakan ahli aktif MTS dan MABIP dan kini ketua Pleural Special Interest Group MTS. Beliau mempunyai banyak penerbitan dalam jurnal tempatan dan antarabangsa dan telah dijemput untuk berceramah di dalam pelbagai persidangan yang diadakan di seluruh negara.
Assoc Prof Dr Mohamed Faisal started his career in the Ministry of health in 2003 and had worked in several hospitals before crossing over to the current institution under Ministry of health. He obtained fellowship in respiratory Medicine in 2017 and received training in pleural disease, sleep and pulmonary physiology in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth Australia. He has set up pleural service in UKM and one of the first in Malaysia to obtain import permit and use successfully intrapleural agent (Alteplase and Pulmozyme) for complex effusion.
While at UKM, he received numerous awards such as excellence service awards (2016), and won numerous awards (presenter and supervisor) in Malaysian Thoracic Society(MTS) Congress, and Malaysian Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (MABIP) Congress. He is also an active member of MTS and MABIP and currently the head of Pleural Special Interest Group of MTS. He has numerous publications in peer reviewed local and international journals and had been invited to speak in various respiratory disorders in conferences held nationwide.
