Biografi/ Biography :
Dr. Kok-Yong Chin adalah seorang pensyarah kanan di Jabatan Farmakologi, Fakulti Perubatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Minat penyelidikannya merangkumi epidemiologi kesihatan tulang, penuaan lelaki, metabolisme tulang, dan penggunaan vitamin E dalam merawat penyakit muskuloskeletal. Beliau adalah pengarang/bersama pengarang lebih daripada 220 artikel jurnal. Indeks h beliau kini berada pada 39, menurut Scopus. Beliau memenangi Anugerah Penyelidik Muda di Persidangan Ke-32 Persatuan Farmakologi dan Fisiologi Malaysia pada tahun 2018, Persidangan Ke-5 Persekutuan Osteoporosis Asia pada tahun 2017, dan Persidangan International Conference on Advances in Medical Science pada tahun 2015. Beliau juga merupakan wakil Malaysia di Mesyuarat Pemenang Nobel Lindau ke-65 pada tahun 2015. Kini, beliau berkhidmat sebagai editor akademik untuk Journal of Tropical Life Science, editor bersekutu untuk BMC Public Health dan Frontiers in Endocrinology, serta ahli lembaga editorial untuk Medicine & Health. Beliau disenaraikan sebagai 2% saintis yang paling banyak dirujuk oleh Elsevier pada tahun 2021-2023.
Dr Kok-Yong Chin is a senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His research interests include the epidemiology of bone health, male ageing, bone metabolism and the use of vitamin E in treating musculoskeletal diseases. He is the author/coauthor of more than 220 journal articles. His h-index currently stands at 39, according to Scopus. He won the Young Investigator Award at the 32nd Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology in 2018, the 5th Asian Federation of Osteoporosis Society Meeting in 2017, and the 1st International Conference of Advances in Medical Science in 2015. He was also a representative of Malaysia at the 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in 2015. He currently serves as an academic editor of the Journal of Tropical Life Science, associate editor of BMC Public Health and Frontiers in Endocrinology, and an editorial board member of Medicine & Health. He is listed as the top 2% most cited scientist by Elsevier in 2021-2023.
