She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2009, followed by a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering in 2011 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2015, also from UTM. Her research journey began in 2009, focusing on materials for diverse applications, including the modification of titanium dioxide anatase for benzoic acid photocatalytic degradation, enhancement of electrochemically synthesized zinc–platinum–beta zeolite for catalytic pentane isomerization, and engineering mesoporous silica nanoparticles for drug adsorption and controlled release in drug delivery systems. Since 2015, her work has concentrated on enhancing mesoporous silica with polymer materials to optimize drug adsorption and release, particularly for biomedical applications. From 2020 to 2022, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at KU Leuven, Belgium, where she specialized in the development of porous materials for antimicrobial dental implant applications, gaining valuable international research exposure and expertise in advanced biomaterials. Her current research continues to advance the design and functionalization of silica-based materials for biomedical applications, with a particular focus on controlled drug delivery and antimicrobial properties. Her work integrates materials science, nanotechnology, and biomedical engineering to address challenges and to contribute to innovative solutions in healthcare and energy.
