   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Nor Azlan is a Research Fellow in Bioinformatics at the Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS). He received his Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (majoring in Bioinformatics) in 2008 and PhD in Bioinformatics in 2015 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. After his PhD, he joined INBIOSIS and have been working on various omics projects focusing on bioinformatics and computational biology analysis. Current on-going projects include: Bacterial Type IX Secretion Systems; Database development (PCOSBase, SuCComBase, Mplanabase (on-going)); Transcriptomics of Bagworm (Metisa plana) and Cocoa Pod Borer (Conopomorpha cramerella); Genomics of Ganoderma boninense and Metisa plana; Metagenomics of palm oil mill effluent; Omics integration of samples from ovarian cancer patients. His current interests are in analyzing biological big data especially multi-omics data and application of computer science methods in biotechnology focusing on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data from genomics, transcriptomics and metagenomics projects.
