   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Ahmad Bazli Ramzi received his Bachelor and PhD degrees from University of Malaya (Malaysia) and Korea University (South Korea), respectively, with major in Biotechnology. He assumed post-doctoral fellow position and currently, works as a research fellow at the Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. His present research aims at advancing metabolic engineering, systems and synthetic biology approaches using microbial platforms for bioproducts and biodiagnostics development. He is actively working with national and international institutions for promoting microbial synthetic biology research through various R&D platforms including as plenary and invited speaker at 12th Malaysia International Genetics Congress 2017 (MiGC12) and Symposium on Promoting Institutional Oversight to Address Biosecurity Threats from Emerging Technologies 2019. He is the principal investigator for several research projects awarded by UKM and national agencies including Yayasan Penyelidikan Antartika Sultan Mizan (YPASM) Fellowship and Ministry of Education (MOE) FRGS Scheme. Dr. Bazli has established international partnership with United Kingdom (UK) synthetic biology centres at University of Manchester (SYNBIOCHEM, UoM) and University of Nottingham (SBRC Nottingham, UoN) where his collaborative projects have received funding from UoN International Collaboration Fund and Global Doctoral Research Network (GOLDEN) Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) - PhD Studentship 2020 programmes.
