Dr Peer Mohamed is a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where he has been since 2016. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Biochemical) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2010, and his Ph.D. in Chemical and Process Engineering from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2016.
His major research interest spans both biomass refinery and bioenergy from palm oil biomass. Much of his work has been on the improvement of both dark and photo biohydrogen using various technological and engineering principles.
He is also serving as the Manager of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia – Yayasan Sime Darby Chair for Sustainability, an endowment research fund with an amount of RM 15 million. Additionally, He has actively participated in various local and international professional bodies and organisations striving for professional development and improvement. Additionally, since 2022 he has been serving as chair for the Malaysia Chapter of the APEC Research Centre for Advance Biohydrogen Technology (APEC-ACABT).
