  •    Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Azlan Abas ialah Profesor Madya dalam Pengurusan Alam Sekitar di Fakulti Sains Sosial dan Kemanusiaan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Beliau memiliki Ijazah Sarjana Muda Sains (Mikrobiologi), Ijazah Sarjana dalam Pengurusan Persekitaran, serta Ph.D. dalam Pengurusan Persekitaran dari UKM. Penyelidikan beliau tertumpu pada pengurusan ekosistem, khususnya hubungan manusia-alam sekitar, perkhidmatan ekosistem, dan penunjuk ekologi, dengan kepakaran dalam liken sebagai penunjuk biologi bagi kesihatan alam sekitar. Dr. Azlan bekerjasama dengan pelbagai agensi kebangsaan seperti Jabatan Alam Sekitar Malaysia, Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa, Malaysia Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation, dan Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam Malaysia. Di peringkat antarabangsa, beliau menjalinkan kerjasama dengan Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Georgia (USA), Resilient Cities Network, Solidaridad Network Berhad, serta beberapa universiti di rantau ASEAN. Beliau juga merupakan ahli kepada beberapa organisasi profesional, termasuk Young Scientists Network – Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM), Persatuan Pencinta Alam Malaysia (MNS), dan Ecological Society of America (ESA).
    Dr. Azlan Abas is an Associate Professor of Environmental Management at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology, an M.Sc. in Environmental Management, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Management from UKM. His research focuses on ecosystem management, particularly the human-environment relationship, ecosystem services, and ecological indicators, with a specialization in lichen as a biological indicator of environmental health. Dr. Azlan collaborates with national agencies such as the Department of Environment Malaysia, Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa, Malaysia Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Malaysia. Internationally, he works with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Georgia (USA), Resilient Cities Network, Solidaridad Network Berhad, and various ASEAN universities. He is a member of the Young Scientists Network – Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM), Malayan Nature Society (MNS), and the Ecological Society of America (ESA).
