   Biografi/ Biography :
  • Dr. Ferial Ghaemi is a senior lecturer of chemical engineering at the National University of Malaysia, UKM. As a young researcher, she is dedicated to research in nanotechnology and Nanomaterials. She received her Ph.D. in September of 2015 as the best postgraduate student from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After her Ph.D. she took a postdoctoral fellowship at this university as part of the Nanotechnology research group for 4 years. In general, she works on synthesis, characterization and application of different types of nanomaterials including carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotube, carbon nanosphere, graphene, carbon nanofiber and fullerene), cellulose nanoparticles (cellulose nanofiber, cellulose nanocrystal, and cellulose nanosphere), metal nanoparticles (Ag NPs, Fe2O3 NPs, ZnO NPs), Metal organic frameworks (MOF) and zeolite. Besides, she synthesized nanocomposites and nanohybrids of these nanomaterials such as carbon nanotube-carbon nanofiber, carbon nanotube-graphene, carbon nanosphere-graphene, MOF-Graphene, MOF- fullerene, cellulose nanosphere-AgNPs, and etc. Moreover, she works on some fields of applications like polymer composite, solid phase microextraction technique, drug delivery systems, electrochemical and biological applications. The last but not least she has some collaboration on mathematical modelling on nanoparticles systems. She is an author of about 30 research papers published in the reputed journals at Elsevier, Springer, IEEE, Taylor & Francis, and MDPI publishers. She also prepares some significant proposals for synthesis and application of nanomaterials that leads to get national funds from Ministry of Education, Malaysia.
