Dr Mir Sujaul Islam is a University Lecturer in Environmental Science and Management. He received the B. Sc. (Hons) in Soil Science from the Department of Soil, Water and Environment, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1990. He obtained M. Sc. degree in 1991 from the same University in Soil Science. He completed his PhD in Environmental Science from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), awarded in August of 2009. During his study, he was awarded a Zamalah UKM Scholarship from December 1, 2006 to November 30, 2007, and also received a Zamalah OUP Scholarship (UKM-OUP-FST-2008) from July 1 2008 to December 31, 2008. Dr Mir Sujaul Islam was a postdoctoral research fellow at University Kebangsaan Malaysia from August 6, 2009 to October 31, 2010. He has served as University Lecturer (Grade DS51) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia from 01 November 2010 to 31 October 2022. He has been appointed as a University Lecturer at Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on 10 November, 2022. He has taught more than 6 different courses in the field of Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management System, Hydrology & Water Resources, Engineering Economics, Waste Management and Engineering Laboratory (Water and Environment). He was also a research fellow of Centre for Earth Resources Research and Management (CERRM), University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. He has successfully supervised more than 80 undergraduate students with short thesis. Dr Sujaul has supervised 5 (Five) PhD students and 1 (one) master’s degree student with thesis. At the present time, he is supervising 1 (one) PhD students. He has also been appointed as the internal examiner for 6 (Six) master’s students and 2 (Two) PhD students.
