   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Norshafidah Binti Abu Shafian is a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow at the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she also holds the role of Sustainable Development Goals Coordinator. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry at Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2013, with full sponsorship from the Public Service Department of Malaysia (JPA). Dr. Norshafidah furthered her studies with full scholarships from the International Exchange Scholarship and Brain Korea Scholarship for a combined MSc-Ph.D. in Chemistry and Nanoscience at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea, graduating in 2020. She then awarded fellowship funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Ewha University-Industry Collaboration Foundation, serving as a postdoctoral researcher at Ewha Womans University from 2020 to 2023. Her research focuses on semiconductor materials, including organic, thin-film, and perovskite solar cells, broadband and narrowband photodiodes, and stimuli-responsive structural color. She has published in high-impact journals and holds patents awarded by the Korea Intellectual Property Office in 2020 and 2022. Dr. Norshafidah has received several awards, including Best Presentation Research Awards at Nano Convergence Conferences 2016, 2022 and Nano Korea 2021 in South Korea, as well as a Best Poster Award nomination at the Materials Research Society Meeting 2018 in USA. She was also ranked among the top ten in the Program Kampus Lestari UKM short video competition. Currently, she has three funded projects, serving as the Principal Investigator for each; two Research University Grants: Geran Galakan Penyelidik Muda GGPM-UKM in October 2023 and Geran Translasi TR-UKM in December 2024, as well as a Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), awarded in August 2024. She is also a reviewer for high-impact journals published by Elsevier and Nature.
