   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr. Norshafidah Binti Abu Shafian is a Senior Lecturer & Research Fellow at the Solar Energy Research Institute of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM-SERI). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and completed her MSc-Ph.D. program in Chemistry and Nanoscience at Ewha Womans University (EWHA), South Korea, in 2020. Her studies were supported by prestigious scholarships, including the Public Service Department of Malaysia Scholarship (JPA-Malaysia), International Exchange Scholarship (IES-Korea), and Brain Korea Scholarship (BKS-Korea). After completing her studies, she received fellowship funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF-Korea) and the Ewha University-Industry Collaboration Foundation (EUICF-Korea), where she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at EWHA from 2020 to 2023. Her research focuses on renewable energy studies including semiconductor materials, solar cells (organic, thin-film, perovskite), photodiodes, structural color, artificial intelligence and interactive multimedia. She has published numerous high impacts journals (Q1 & Q2) and holds patents from the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) in 2020 and 2022. Dr. Norshafidah has earned several awards, including Best Presentation Research Awards at the Nano Convergence Conference 2016 and 2022, as well as Nano Korea 2021. She was also nominated for a Best Poster Award at the 2018 Materials Research Society Meeting in Boston, USA. At UKM-SERI, Dr. Norshafidah is the SDG Coordinator (2023-2026) and serves as the Principal Investigator for three funded projects, including two university grants (GGPM-UKM-2023 & TR-UKM-2024) and a national grant (FRGS-2024) by MOHE. Additionally, she is a Co-Principal Investigator for international grant (KGP-2024) collaborating with George Mason University, Virginia, USA and a national grant (SRF) by MOSTI through MIMOS Berhad. She is also a reviewer for leading scientific publishers like Elsevier, Springer Nature, WILEY & IEEE.
