Dr. Ruzanna has 14 years of experience in higher education. Prior to joining UKM in April 2023, she served as an academic for over 12 years at a private university. She earned her Ph.D. in Statistics from Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), UKM in 2018, a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Faculty of Economics & Administration (FEA), Universiti Malaya in 2010, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Actuarial Science from FST, UKM in 2008. Her primary research interests includes copulas and financial time series modeling. Dr. Ruzanna has published quite a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings, as reflected in her Google Scholar profile. She has served as a principal investigator for both internal and national grants and actively supervises Ph.D. and MPhil candidates at UKM and other institutions. She is open to research collaborations, seeking opportunities to work with peers across disciplines to expand her research’s scope and impact. Besides research, Dr. Ruzanna has taught mathematics for many years to accounting, business, economics and finance students. Understanding the challenges non-STEM students face in learning mathematics, she conducts research in math education for business students and recently winning a Gold Award at the iNVENTX Invention Exhibition 2024 and a Silver Medal at IUCEL X KNOVASI 2024 for teaching and learning innovation. Besides research and teaching, Dr. Ruzanna`s passion for data analysis extends into her consultancy work for various organizations, where she applies her expertise in survey design, data handling, analysis, and technical report preparation.
