Ricky Anak Kemarau has successfully earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree with honors in Geography from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. He furthered his academic journey by attaining a Master of Science degree in Remote Sensing from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, followed by a PhD in Earth Science from Universiti Malaysia Sabah with the Graduated On Time Award. Ricky`s passion for knowledge and research is evident through his publication of numerous journals and books focusing on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing applications.
Recognized as a Geospatial (Gs) specialist by the Institution of Geospatial and Remote Sensing Malaysia (IGRSM), Ricky`s research interests encompass diverse domains such as physical geography, remote sensing, spatial analysis, temporal analysis, climate change, and geographic information systems.
Before his current role at the Institute of Climate Change, Ricky actively utilized advanced LIDAR technology for 3D scanning and structural modeling in the oil and gas sector. With over 13 years of experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) and radiation protection, he possesses valuable practical knowledge and skills in these areas.
Ricky`s enthusiasm for collaboration is evident, particularly in the fields of remote sensing and GIS applications, climate change, the socioeconomic impacts of environmental shifts, and climatology studies. He is genuinely interested in leveraging remote sensing and GIS techniques to explore the effects of climate change on various aspects of society and the economy.
