Mohd Nor Akmal Khalid adalah pensyarah kanan Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Maklumat dan ahli Pusat Teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan (CAIT) di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Beliau dianugerahkan ijazah B. Comp. Sc. (Hons), MSc., dan Ph.D. dari Universiti Sains Malaysia pada 2013, 2015, dan 2018. Beliau sebelum ini bekerja sebagai penolong profesor (atau pensyarah) di Sekolah Sains Maklumat, Institut Sains dan Teknologi Termaju Jepun (JAIST), Nomi, Jepun, sementara itu juga berkhidmat sebagai ahli Pusat Penyelidikan Sains Hiburan (2019--2020), dan ahli Pusat Penyelidikan Antarabangsa untuk Kecerdasan Buatan dan Sains Hiburan (2022--2023). Beliau ialah jawatankuasa program aktif untuk Bengkel Sains dan Teknologi Maklumat ASEAN (AWIST), ahli Persatuan IEEE, ahli bersekutu MyAIS Malaysian Chapter, ahli teknologi profesional yang disahkan dengan Lembaga Teknologis Malaysia (MBOT), dan ahli Persatuan Kemajuan Kecerdasan Buatan (AAAI). Beliau kerap dijemput sebagai pewasit artikel untuk Elsevier, IEEE, dan beberapa jurnal terkenal lain semasa berkhidmat sebagai editor tetamu untuk beberapa jurnal tersebut. Kepakarannya terletak dalam kecerdasan buatan, informatika permainan, pemodelan dan simulasi, dan pengoptimuman pengiraan.
Mohd Nor Akmal Khalid is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology and a Center for Artificial Intelligence Technology (CAIT) member at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He conferred his B. Comp. Sc. (Hons), MSc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2013, 2015, and 2018, respectively. He was previously employed as an assistant professor (or lecturer) at the School of Information Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Nomi, Japan, while also serving as a member of the Research Center for Entertainment Science (2019--2020), and a member of the International Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and Entertainment Science (2022--2023). He is an active program committee for the ASEAN Workshop of Information Science and Technology (AWIST), an IEEE Society member, an associate member of MyAIS Malaysian Chapter, a professional technologist certified with the Malaysian Board of Technologist (MBOT), and a member of the Association for Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). He is regularly invited as an article referee for Elsevier, IEEE, and several other reputable journals while serving as the guest editor for some of those journals. His expertise lies in artificial intelligence, game informatics, modeling and simulation, and computational optimization.
