Biografi/ Biography :
Dr. Siti Farahiyah Ab Rahim is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She obtained her PhD in Law from the School of Law, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom (2021). Prior to that, she completed her Master of Comparative Laws at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB & LLBS) from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
Her research interests centre on medical confidentiality, privacy, and data protection law, with a particular focus on the legal and ethical issues surrounding the use and sharing of patient health data. She also has a growing interest in medico-legal disputes, specifically in assessing the suitability of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms as compared to traditional tort litigation. Her work in this area aims to evaluate whether ADR provides a more efficient, accessible, and constructive avenue for resolving medical negligence and healthcare-related disputes.
At UKM, Dr. Siti Farahiyah teaches Tort Law I and II at the undergraduate level, as well as Medical Law & Ethics and Legal Research Method for postgraduate students. She is committed to integrating theory and practice in her teaching, with the goal of equipping students with strong doctrinal foundations and practical legal skills.
