Dr. Nurrul Hafeezah Sahak is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology, specializing in Occupational Safety and Health. She holds a Ph.D. in Occupational Health and Safety and has built an active career in research, teaching, industry collaboration and public engagement. Her research interests include occupational safety management, transportation risk management and behaviour-based safety.
Dr. Nurrul Hafeezah is widely recognized for her contributions to public discourse on transportation risk management in Malaysia. She has been invited to share her insights in prominent national newspapers such as the New Straits Times, The Star and The Sun and regularly writes on safety and health issues in publications including Utusan Malaysia, Bernama, Kosmo and Malaysia Gazette. Her expertise has also been featured in media interviews, including an appearance on BFM Radio to discuss regional road safety measures.
Beyond academia, Dr. Nurrul Hafeezah is deeply engaged in community outreach and industry collaboration. She has led multiple initiatives under the Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) program, partnering with the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to promote road safety awareness. In addition, she conducts professional training programs for industry stakeholders on workplace safety practices.
Dr. Nurrul Hafeezah has presented her work at prestigious global conferences organized by institutions such as the George Institute for Global Health (Australia), the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland, and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (India). She was awarded a scholarship by the SWOV Institute for Road Safety Research (Netherlands) to attend road safety leadership and capacity development program at Delft University of Technology.
