  • Nur Hidayah Azeman received the B.Sc. degree in Resource Chemistry from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia, in 2009. She gained industry experience as a Chemist while pursuing the Master of Environment degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia, which she completed in 2012. She obtained her PhD degree in Smart Sensing Materials from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2017. From 2017 to 2022, she was a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, Malaysia. She is currently a Senior Lecturer/Research Fellow at the Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN), UKM, where she is involved in the coordination of research activities at the Quantum Electronics Laboratory. Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of functional sensing materials, as well as the investigation of their properties for optical and emerging quantum sensing applications. Her research interests include the development of carbon quantum dots, metal–organic frameworks, polymers, chemical and optical sensors, and advanced sensing technologies. She is an active member of the Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM), IEEE Young Professionals Malaysia (IEEE YP), and IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter (MyIPS). In 2023, she was competitively selected to participate in the Second Commonwealth Chemistry Congress in Trinidad and Tobago, with full sponsorship provided by the Royal Society of Chemistry, U.K., and Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM).
