Dr. Nurfarhana Alyssa Ahmad Affandi merupakan pensyarah dan penyelidik di Institut Penyelidikan Tenaga Suria (SERI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), dengan kepakaran dalam sistem tenaga mampan dan teknologi fotovoltaik suria. Beliau memiliki Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (PhD) dalam bidang kejuruteraan dengan fokus kepada penilaian kitar hayat dinamik (dLCA) bagi sistem tenaga boleh baharu. Bidang kepakaran beliau merangkumi penilaian kitar hayat (LCA), analisis kos kitar hayat (LCCA), analisis tekno-ekonomi (TEA), sistem tenaga boleh baharu teragih serta strategi ekonomi kitaran. Penyelidikan beliau menekankan integrasi pemodelan berasaskan masa dalam penilaian kemampanan bagi menyokong keputusan dasar dan pelaburan yang lebih tepat, khususnya dalam konteks negara tropika dan membangun.
Dr. Alyssa juga aktif terlibat dalam kolaborasi penyelidikan di peringkat nasional dan antarabangsa bersama agensi seperti Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), PETRONAS, serta APEC Energy Working Group. Sumbangan beliau memberi fokus kepada peralihan tenaga rendah karbon, kelestarian sistem PV, serta pembangunan dasar tenaga di rantau ASEAN. Beliau telah menerbitkan artikel dalam jurnal antarabangsa bereputasi dan membentangkan hasil penyelidikan di pelbagai persidangan global. Minat penyelidikan semasa beliau merangkumi dLCA bagi teknologi fotovoltaik generasi baharu, sistem nexus tenaga-air-makanan, aplikasi solar terapung, serta dasar tenaga mampan ke arah peralihan sifar bersih.
Dr. Nurfarhana Alyssa Ahmad Affandi is a lecturer and researcher at the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), specializing in sustainable energy systems and solar photovoltaic technologies. She holds a PhD in engineering with a research focus on dynamic life cycle assessment (dLCA) of renewable energy systems. Her expertise spans life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle cost analysis (LCCA), techno-economic analysis (TEA), distributed renewable energy systems, and circular economy strategies. Her research emphasizes integrating temporal modelling into sustainability assessments to better inform policy and investment decisions, particularly in tropical and developing country contexts.
Dr. Alyssa has been actively involved in national and international research collaborations with organizations such as the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), PETRONAS, and the APEC Energy Working Group. Her work contributes to advancing low-carbon energy transitions, solar PV sustainability, and policy development across ASEAN. She has published in reputable international journals and has presented her work at various global conferences. Her current research interests include dynamic LCA of emerging photovoltaic technologies, energy–water–food nexus systems, floating solar applications, and sustainable energy policy for net-zero transitions.
