Biografi/ Biography :
Safinaz is an associate professor at the Law Faculty of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She has over 20 years of experience in the academia dealing mainly with teaching and research. She has also held administrative posts at the faculty and university level. Her most recent administrative post was as the Deputy Dean Academic Affairs which she held from 2018 until February 2020 and Deputy Dean, Undergraduate, Alumni and Community Relations from 2017 until 2018. In both these positions, she handled academic related matters which includes curriculum review and cooperation with other universities (local and international) and industries. In 2011, for 3 years, she was the Deputy Director for Audit and Assessment for the University’s Centre for Quality Assurance. The work involved assessment for compliance with UKM’s QMS (Based on ISO Standards 9001:2008) on Teaching and Learning which is done yearly. Visited various faculties and institutes as auditor and lead auditor and handled programme accreditation processes in UKM. Safinaz was also involved as a special consultative committee for the preparation of the blueprint for the Legal Profession in the Malaysia in 2017. She is part of the National Standards Committee for Consumer Interests and is also involved in the drafting of the International Guidelines on Consumer Warranties and Guaranties from 2016 to date. She took part in formulating courses for government agencies on Intellectual Property and Competition Policy. She has experience as editors for journals like the Consumer Law Journal (a project with KPDNKK) and Brawijaya Law Journal and as a trainer for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency and Judicial and Legal Service Training Institute.
