Sr Dr Khairul Nizam Abdul Maulud merupakan Prof. Madya di Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Alam Bina, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Beliau juga dilantik sebagai Ketua Pusat Pencerapan Bumi, Institut Perubahan Iklim, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Beliau menyertai Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia sejak 2001 selepas menamatkan B.Sc Geoinformatik dari Universiti Teknologi, Malaysia. Beliau memperolehi M.Sc dalam Geoinformatik dari Universiti Teknologi, Malaysia dan PhD dalam bidang Awam & Struktur dari Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Pada masa ini, beliau telah menerbitkan lebih daripada 108 kertas jurnal, 35 buku dan bab dalam buku dan 86 prosiding dalam di peringkat nasional dan antarabangsa. Beliau telah terlibat sebagai penyelidik utama dan pakar perunding lebih daripada 50 geran penyelidikan, 41 perundingan di Malaysia. Sehingga kini, beliau telah menyelia 19 pelajar PhD, 14 Pelajar Sarjana dan 31 ijazah sarjana muda. Kepakaran beliau ialah Sistem Maklumat Geografi dan Geomatik dan mempunyai pengalaman hampir 19 tahun dalam penyelidikan dan perundingan. Beliau telah berjaya menyiapkan hampir 17 projek berkaitan air termasuk kenaikan paras laut, analisis geospatial, perubahan guna tanah, kualiti air, hakisan pantai, pengurusan air menggunakan GIS dan Indeks Kerentanan Pantai. Beliau kini mengetuai penyelidikan berimpak tinggi mengenai perubahan iklim, terutamanya mengenai kesan fizikal dan ekonomi. Beliau juga merupakan panel pakar untuk kerajaan Malaysia terutamanya dalam geomorfologi pantai, analisis geospatial dan analisis kualiti air spatial.

Sr. Dr Khairul Nizam Abdul Maulud is an Assoc. Prof. at the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He also appointed as a Head of Earth Observation Centre, Institute of Climate Change, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He joins the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia since 2001 after completing his B.Sc of Geoinformatics from the University of Technology, Malaysia. He received his M.Sc in Geoinformatics from the University of Technology, Malaysia and PhD in Civil & Structural from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Currently, he has published more than 108 journal papers, 35 books and chapters in book and 86 proceedings in national and international proceedings. He has involved as a principal researcher and consultant works more than 50 research grants, 41 consultant works in Malaysia. To date, he has supervised 19 PhD students, 14 Master Students and 31 bachelor degrees. His expertise is a Geographical Information System and Geomatic and has almost 19 years’ experience in research and consultancy. He has successfully completed almost 17 water-related projects including sea-level rise, geospatial analysis, land-use changes, water quality, shoreline erosion, water management using GIS and Coastal Vulnerability Index. He now led high impact research on climate change, especially on the physical and economic impacts. He also is an expert panel for the government of Malaysia especially in coastal geomorphology, geospatial analysis and spatial water quality analysis.
