Biografi/ Biography :
Associate Professor Dr Noor Azimah Muhammad is a senior consultant in Family Medicine at Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She received her degree in medicine from the University of Queensland, Australia in 1996, Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) (UKM) in 2006 and PhD in Community (Adolescent) Health (UKM) in 2016. She had her clinical training on Child and Adolescent Health from Psychiatric Department UKM in 2008 and has actively running the Child and Adolescent Clinic in Klinik Primer PPUKM Cheras until today.
Her research interest areas include (1) Adolescent health that include sexual & reproductive health, adolescent pregnancy, mental health and risky behaviours. Her PhD project was on the influence of personal and family factors on sexual intention and activity among college students in Klang Valley, Malaysia. (2) Nutrition / eating behaviours and weight status of children and adolescents and (3) Development and validating questionnaire. Together with other colleagues, she has developed and validated Youth Sexual Intention Questionnaire (YSI-Q), Parental Bonding Instrument – Malay (PBI-M) version, Malay version of Family Environment Scale (FES) Questionnaire and Malay version of Eating Disorder Examination (EDEQ).
She is actively teaching the candidates in the Advance Training Programme for MAFP / FRACGP conducted by Academy of Family Physician Malaysia since 2014. At present, she is the Chairman of the National Conjoint Board of the Family Medicine Specialty. She is an active council member of Malaysian Primary Care Research Group, member of Family Medicine Specialist Association of Malaysia and Malaysian Society of Adolescent Health.
