Biografi/ Biography :
Chong Foong Yen, Ph.D., is a lecturer at the Audiology Program, Centre for Rehabilitation & Special Needs Studies (iCaRehab), Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK), The National University of Malaysia (UKM). She obtained her Ph.D. in 2016 and M.Sc. in 2010 in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. In her doctoral studies, Dr. Chong examined the acoustic and perceptual effects of digital noise reduction systems in hearing aid on speech sounds.
Dr. Chong currently teaches amplification and psychoacoustics at the Audiology Program, FSK, UKM, a place close to her heart where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Audiology (Hons.) in 2007.
Dr. Chong`s passion towards amplification and speech acoustics remains as her research interest. Dr. Chong`s current research projects entail the development of speech perception test materials and adaptation of outcome assessment tools.
