Nor Samsiah Sani received her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia. She then continued her PhD at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where her thesis focused on machine learning , deep learning and evolutionary algorithms. She currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer within the Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Center for Artificial Intelligence Technology (CAIT), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She has been invited as speaker for several seminars on Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), organized by the Malaysian IEEE-Electron Devices Society. She also has been invited to run short courses on similar subjects for the National Heart Institute and UKM Graduate School of Business respectively. She is currently leading four projects at the internal and national level, where one of the project sees her engaging into collaboration with the Malaysian government sectors, such as the Ministry of Higher Education and the Economic Planning Unit (EPU). Her research interests lie primarily in the fields of machine learning, deep learning, evolutionary algorithms, data mining and optimization, data analytics and Chemoinformatics.
