Biografi/ Biography :
Profesor Dr Nurhizam Safie merupakan Dekan Fakulti Teknologi & Sains Maklumat, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia yang dilantik pads 6hb Januari 2023 hingga kini. Telah memulakan kerjaya di industri teknologi maklumat sebagai Pengurus Projek Sistem Maklumat dari tahun 1997 sehingga 2002. Manakala, karier dalam bidang akademik bermula di Open University Malaysia (OUM) dari tahun 2002 - 2008 sebagai pensyarah kanan dan Timbalan Dekan. Dari tahun 2008 -2010, beliau telah dilantik sebagai Dekan pertama di Sekolah ICT, Asia eUniversity (AeU). Selepas itu, beliau menyahut cabaran di peringkat global menjadi Felo Penyelidik (Teknologi Maklumat) di Universiti Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu, (United Nations University - UNU), badan akademik PBB yang beribu pejabat di Tokyo, Jepun dari tahun 2010-2014. Dari 2014-2015, beliau telah terlibat sebagai perunding utama dalam pembangunan EA Kementerian Kerja Raya Malaysia. Beliau telah dianugerahkan Technologist (.Ts/P.Tech (Teknologi Maklumat) dari Lembaga Teknologi Malaysia (MBoT) pada 2018. Kini beliau merupakan Timbalan Pengerusi Majlis Dekan ICT Universiti Awam (MADICT). Pada tahun 2022, Dr Nurhizam Safie telah diberi kebenaran menubuhkan syarikat terbitan universiti (spin-off company) bagi mengkomersilkan produk inovasi penyelidikan beliau, dimana kontraktor dan perunding PETRONAS bakal menggunakan inovasi ini . Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (PhD) dalam Sistem Maklumat Pengurusan (MIS) telah diterima dari Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia pada tahun 2010. Ijazah Kedoktoran ini dibiayai menerusi Biasiswa National Science Fellowship (NSF) Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Malaysia (MoSTI). Dr Nurhizam Safie menerima Ijazah Sarjana Teknologi Maklumat dari Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) pada tahun 1999 dan Sarjana Pentadbiran Perniagaan (MBA) dari Universiti Anglia Ruskin, United Kingdom pada tahun 2019. Tahap pendidikan tinggi dan kesarjanaan beliau disokong berasaskan Ijazah pertama dianugerahkan dari Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia pada tahun
Professor Dr Nurhizam Safie has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Information Science & Technology since 6th of January 2023. He started his career in Information Technology Industry as a Project Manager since 1997 to 2002. Later, he moved to the academic world, with a humble beginning at the Open University of Malaysia from 2002 to 2008 as a Senior Lecturer and Vice Dean. To gained more Asian academic experience , he moved to Asia e University as the Founding Dean of School of ICT from 2008 to 2010. Later in 2010, he moved to play a bigger role in global academic arena as the Research Fellow at the United Nations University, a United Nations academic arm. He was conferred the Professional Technologist (.Ts/P.Tech(IT)) credential from the Malaysian Board of Technology (MBoT) in 2018. He received his PhD in Management Information Systems (MIS), in which he was awarded the National Science Fellowship (NSF) Scholarship from the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MoSTI). He earned a Master of Information Technology from UKM in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom in 2019. He was promoted to Full Professor (VK7) on September 11th 2024.
