   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Minat dalam matematik, sains, dan kejuruteraan adalah pencetus untuk saya menyahut cabaran mengikuti pengajian peringkat Diploma dan Ijazah Sarjana Muda dalam Kejuruteraan Mekanikal di Jepun dari tahun 1991 hingga 1997. Seterusnya bekerja di sebuah syarikat semikonduktor Jepun setelah lulus mendorong minat saya terhadap bahan kejuruteraan dan teknologi pembuatan termaju. Saya tidak boleh menolak untuk menerima tawaran melanjutkan pelajaran ke peringkat Master dan Ph.D. dalam bidang sains bahan di bawah tajaan biasiswa Monbusho daripada kerajaan Jepun dari tahun 2000 hingga 2005, tempoh di mana saya membina watak saya sebagai penyelidik dalam bidang bahan. Sekarang ini, saya bekerja sebagai pensyarah dan penyelidik di Fakulti Kejuruteraan dan Alam Bina, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia sejak tahun 2005. Mengetuai Jabatan Kejuruteraan Mekanik dan Bahan sejak 2015 dan kini memegang jawatan sebagai Pengerusi Jabatan Kejuruteraan Mekanikal dan Pembuatan. Saya aktif menerbitkan makalah penyelidikan dalam bidang sifat mekanik bahan kejuruteraan termaju terutama mengenai kekuatan sambungan logam, sifat tegangan dan rayapan pada suhu tinggi, dan sifat lesu. Kolaborasi dan kerjasama penyelidikan dengan pihak industri dan komuniti adalah fokus saya sekarang bagi meningkatkan sumbangan saya melalui penyelidikan.
    I have enjoyed math, science, and general problem solving since high school. Engineering sparked my interest as a way to engage in all these disciplines. Pursuing my Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in Japan from 1991 to 1997 led me through many challenges. Working in a Japanese semiconductor company after graduated spark my interest in advanced materials and cutting-edge manufacturing technology. I cannot refuse to accept the challenge to pursue study in Master`s and Ph.D. in the field of material science under the Japanese Monbusho sponsorship from 2000 to 2005, the period where I built my character as a researcher in materials. Today, I am working as a lecturer and researcher at the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) since 2005. Heading the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering since 2015 and now holds the Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. I am active in publishing research papers in the field of mechanical properties of advanced engineering materials especially on the strength of metal joining, high temperature tensile and creep, and fatigue. Collaborating and engaging with industries and communities are my current focus to intensify my contribution through research.
