  •    Biografi/ Biography :

  • Dr Muhammad Hakimi Bin Mohd Shafiai is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Islamic Economics Cluster (EKONIS), Center of Sustainable and Inclusive Development (SID), Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). At the same time, he was also appointed (secondment) as an Assistant Special Officer for YABhg Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2014 to 2019, Visiting Associate Professor, Graduate School of Asian & African Area Studies (ASAFAS), Kyoto University (2020), Research Fellow of Institute Islam Hadhari, UKM (2012-now), Research Fellow of Accounting Research Institute (ARI), Universiti Teknologi MARA (2013-2015) and Research Fellow at the Center for Islamic Area Studies at Kyoto University (2013-now). He received both of his Bachelor and Masters Degree in Syariah from Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. For his doctorate, he lived in Kyoto for 3 years (2009-2012), doing research on Islamic Economics at the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University. Since 2006 doing research, he made a significant contribution in the field of Islamic economics, Islamic social finance, Islamic philanthropy (Waqf), Islamic agriculture finance and Islamic microfinance at the national and international level.
