   Biografi/ Biography :


  • LIM SENG JOE, an Associate Professor at the Department of Food Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), is a Registered Food Analyst (MJMM001103) and Professional Technologist (PT22120413). His expertise is in functional food & ingredients, and food analysis & chemistry. With a B.Sc (2010) and Ph.D. (2014) from UKM, he began his career as a Lecturer in 2013, progressing to Senior Lecturer (2015) and Associate Professor (2021). Currently, he heads the Centre of Excellence-Innovation Centre for Confectionery Technology (MANIS) and serves as the Editor for Sains Malaysiana. He received the Erasmus Mundus Project ALFABET Award (2015) and ASEA-UNINET Scholarships (2020 & 2023), which sponsored his three postdoctoral attachments at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria. He was invited as the Visiting Professor of Prince of Songkla University, Thailand (2019), and Gifu University (2022), and was recognised as the Top 1% Peer Reviewer in 2019 by Publons. Actively engaged in national committees, Dr Lim is the Elected Council Member cum Professional Member for Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT), Member of Young Scientist Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM), and National Codex Committee (JCK) member. He has received accolades such as the MyRA Excellence Award (Innovation) (2019, 2022), Commercialisation Award FST, UKM (2019, 2020), Most Intellectual Properties Award FST, UKM (2020), Indexed Journal Publication Award FST, UKM (2021 & 2022), Entrepreneurial Innovation Award FST, UKM (2023), Anugerah Bitara Ahli Akademik Harapan, UKM (2021), and various competition wins related to research, innovation, and teaching, including K-novasi P&P UKM (2017, 2019, 2020), The 1st International Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand Symposium on Innovation and Creativity (2017 - Gold), and The Crown Prince CIPTA Award (2021 & 2023). Dr. Lim has successfully commercialised his intellectual properties through Technology Licensing Agreements.
