   Biografi/ Biography :


  • LIM SENG JOE is an Associate Professor at the Department of Food Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a Registered Food Analyst (MJMM001103) (Malaysian Food Analysts Council, Ministry of Health, Malaysia) and Professional Technologist (PT22120413) (Malaysia Board of Technologists). His field of expertise covers functional food & ingredients, and food analysis & chemistry. He currently serves as the Head of the Centre of Excellence-Innovation Centre for Confectionery Technology (MANIS), and the Editor for Sains Malaysiana (WoS indexed journal). Recipient of the Erasmus Mundus Project ALFABET Award (2015) and ASEA-UNINET Scholarship (2020 & 2023) which sponsored his 3 postdoctoral attachments at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria. He was also invited as the Visiting Professor of Prince of Songkla University, Thailand (2019), and Gifu University (2022). Dr Lim received Top 1% Peer Reviewer 2019 Award by Publons, for his outstanding reviewer contribution. Actively participates and contributes his expertise in various national committees, including as Elected Council Member cum Professional Member for Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT), Affiliate to Young Scientist Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM), and National Codex Committee (JCK) member. He has received several awards including the Excellent Service Award (2017), Commercialisation Award FST, UKM (2019, 2020), Most Intellectual Properties Award FST, UKM (2020), MyRA Excellence Award (Innovation), UKM (2020 & 2022), Anugerah Bitara Ahli Akademik Harapan, UKM (2021) and has won various competitions related to research, innovation and teaching, including K-novasi P&P UKM (2017, 2019, 2020), R-Challenge Day FST, UKM (2018), The 1st International Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand Symposium on Innovation and Creativity (IMITSIC2017), and The Crown Prince CIPTA Award 2021 & 2023, Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
