Biografi/ Biography :
Associate Prof. Dr. Salasiah (DS54) is a lecturer at the Center for Dakwah and Leadership, Faculty of Islamic Studies, UKM, since 7 January 2014. Started serving at UKM in 2003 and was appointed as a Senior Lecturer (DS51) in 2008. Areas of expertise: Da`wah and Islamic Counseling. Her research focused more on issues related to da`wah, Islamic counseling, spiritual counseling, Islamic psychology, tazkiyah al-nafs, social problems, women and family. She holds a Bachelor of Usuluddin (First Class Honours), University of Malaya (1994), Master of Usuluddin (University of Malaya, 1998) and obtained a PhD (Dakwah and Counseling) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2008). Also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology, Department of Psychology and Human Development, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UKM (2006). Salasiah is a Registered Counselor (00628) and holds Certificate of Practice (00459) KB; PA Board of Counselors Malaysia (2007-present). At the international level Salasiah is known through an article entitled ‘Islamic Approach in Counseling’ (2014) in Journal of Religion & Health (JORH), Q3). His book entitled `Spiritual Counseling Approach according to al-Ghazali` is a reference among students in IPT, counselors, teachers, advisory and consulting officers in Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. At the National level, Salasiah was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Baitul Ehsan ar-Riqab Women`s Shelter, MAIS and Member of the MAIS ar-Riqab Committee. Salasiah`s also appointed as Vice President of Syarie Counseling Association (PAKSI). Among Salasiah`s outstanding success in research is the issuance of policy paper and blueprint for the research project of Prosperous Society Blueprint Development (BMS) Putrajaya (2018-2022). Salasiah was also appointed as a Research Grant Assessor at the level of KPM (Malaysia Education Ministry), UKM and KUIS (FRGS, GUP, GGPM). She received the Selangor State Level Maulidur Rasul Figure Special Award (2014) for Saidatina Khadijah Category.
She also recipient of the Outstanding Lecturer Award (2014) (Young Outstanding Lecturer Category, Arts and Social Sciences Cluster) Bitara UKM, Industry & Community Engagement Award, Academic Category, UKM Bitara (2020), FPI Excellent Lecturer Award (2011, 2012, 2014) and twice received the UKM Outstanding Service Award (2010 and 2019). Received the Outstanding Supervisor Award 2019. Several times received the best article awards for conferences in Korea, Brunei, Indonesia and UKM. Her 5 years experience as a Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation as well as the Internal Auditor of MyRA made her to be frequently referred to in the writing of Islamic Studies journals and invited to share her experiences in the Impact Journal Article Writing Webinar, at ACIS, UiTM. Salasiah recognized as an expert in the field of Islamic Counseling and has been an invited guest on TV Hijrah, TV1 and Radio IKIM. Salasiah was also appointed as a Counselor at UKM, PAKSI and KSK @ Care JAKIM. Since DS54, Salasiah leads 16 National and UKM Level research projects such as FRGS, GGPM, PTS, AP, DCP, GUP while external grants from MAIS, al-Hidayah House of Quran and Putrajaya Corporation. The total funds raised as the Project Leader is RM675,775. She is also involved as a researcher for 42 projects with a total fund of RM1,909,912.85. The total funds received are more than RM2.5 million. Until August 2021, Dr. Salasiah has produced a total of 375 publications in various categories. She has published 113 journal articles namely 3 WoS (Q2 and Q3), 55 SCOPUS, 8 WoS (ESCI), 14 Mycite and 33 referred journals. Has written 25 original / edited books, 58 chapters in books, 64 proceedings and 38 writings in newspapers and magazines. Salasiah managed to produce 3 policy papers, namely the Prosperous Society Blueprint of Putrajaya and the Shariah Index Study. She also leads 2 MoAs with Putrajaya Corporation and PERKIM. Has registered a total of 38 copyrights.
